Elsamere sustainable development course for teachers’

At the end of our student trips to Kenya we spend a couple of days at Elsamere which is an educational study centre focusing on sustainable development. The centre is based around the former home of Joy and George Adamson, who became famous in the 1960s for the book and film ‘Born Free’ about the lioness Elsa who they rescued then released back into the wild.

The centre runs courses for Kenyan teachers on sustainable development and two of ‘our’ teachers spent a week there in September: Madam Rose from Alara Mixed Secondary School and David Sabare from Ratanga Primary School attended the course in September. They have come back full of ideas they can use in their schools.
