The new water tank at Alara Mixed Secondary School

Water security (or the lack of it) is one of the biggest challenges in rural Kenya. There is either too much water in the wet season or too little in the dry season. After the success of the two 100.000 litre tanks at Kinda Biye we have just transferred the funds to build a similar tank at Alara Mixed Secondary School. It remains to be seen whether it will bridge the gap between wet seasons, but it will be a big step in the right direction. In terms of the number of people that will benefit, it is a real bargain at £3100.
