Some projects need support from a range of organisations. Providing reliable supplies of clean water is one of these.
Our focus has been on the collection and storage of clean water. The two 100 000 litre concrete tanks at Kinda Biye are a huge help, as are the 10 000 litre black plastic tanks and wells. But there is still a problem in the dry season when stored water runs out and riskier sources have to be used, such as river water. The organisation Lifestraw is helping to tackle this problem by providing water filters so that children can purify the water they bring to school that may have been collected from a contaminated river.
